ABB launches the latest member of Yumi series

Yumi single arm robot is ABB’s most flexible and compact cooperative robot so far, which is easy to integrate into a variety of production environments.

Following the successful launch of ABB’s first real two arm cooperative robot Yumi in 2015, abb has developed Yumi single arm robot, further expanding ABB’s cooperative product line.

Flexible installation and convenient deployment

Yumi single arm robot is compact, lightweight (9.5 kg), supports a variety of installation methods, including ceiling, desktop and wall mounting, and can be quickly and flexibly integrated into the existing production line. The ultralight magnesium alloy arm rotates along the 7-axis, which can simulate human action and is more flexible than the 6-axis robot. This robot is specially designed for the small part assembly process of consumer electronics industry, consumer goods industry and small and medium-sized enterprises to meet their flexible production needs.

Easy to use guided programming

Like Yumi double arm robot, Yumi single arm robot also adopts intuitive and easy-to-use guided programming, which means that workers can teach robot motion or positioning simply and quickly, so as to greatly simplify robot programming. Combining the ease of use and deployment flexibility of this robot can make up for the shortage of highly skilled talents in manufacturing enterprises in many industries. At the same time, it also reduces the entry threshold for potential new robot users, especially small and medium-sized enterprises.

Yumi series robots are widely used and can be combined with each other in a variety of ways. For example, Yumi single arm robot can be used to transport parts to Yumi double arm robot to improve flexibility, or add Yumi robot as an additional arm to complex assembly tasks that require more than two mechanical arms.
