At the meeting, China Unicom and ZTE released the 5G-A deterministic industrial Internet series of technological innovation practice results. China Unicom will build a 5G/5G-A deterministic network with deterministic time delay, time and space, reliability, business, security and system assurance in all aspects, and build a solid digital infrastructure base for industry customers.

Mr. Wang Xiyu said that ZTE has constantly consolidated its basic capabilities, committed to innovation, and has the courage to explore. In 2023, China Unicom will continue to deepen its efforts in the fields of 5G-A technology and standard evolution, 5G-A private network and deterministic services, 5G edge computing network in industrial Internet and intelligent operation, and continue to innovate and expand its application capabilities for B-end and H-end, and further extend the boundaries of China Unicom’s network, business and services. It has carried out various innovative application cooperation with a number of industry-leading partners, such as Anhui Meidi 5G-A All-connected Factory and other projects, which have become the industry benchmark and have created huge commercial value for enterprises in improving production efficiency, green and low-carbon and other aspects.

Mr. Fan Ji’an, the chief scientist of China Unicom Big Data, delivered a speech on “5G-A Deterministic Network Enabling Industry”, detailing the 5G-A industrial Internet deterministic security system. The deterministic guarantee of delay reduces the transmission delay and delay jitter through technologies such as URLLC, TSN and network slicing. The time-space certainty guarantee provides high-precision timing and precise positioning services for industrial networks and businesses. Through the design of highly reliable transmission protocol and the enhancement of the operation stability of network equipment, reliable and deterministic guarantee is provided for the accurate transmission and transmission of industrial data. Through intelligent identification of business characteristics and closed-loop management of the whole life cycle of network resources, it provides users with differentiated business certainty assurance. At the same time, establish the security certainty guarantee and system certainty guarantee mechanism.

China Unicom, together with its partners, has made remarkable achievements in the standard research, specification formulation, pilot verification and industrial promotion of 5G industrial Internet. In 2022, China Unicom, together with ZTE, launched a pilot application of 5G-A-based smart factory in the Wuhu base of Meidi Kitchen in Anhui Province, and completed the commercial landing of 12 5G+production and operation scenarios in 3 production workshops. The 5G-A deterministic network has greatly improved the reliability and convenience of industrial production, improved the management efficiency by 20%, reduced the production cost by nearly 40 million yuan, and reduced the product complaint rate by more than 60%. At the end of the conference, under the joint witness of Mr. Liang Baojun and Mr. Wang Xiyu, Mr. Li Hongwu, president of China Unicom Research Institute, and Mr. Yang Xiangsong, vice president of ZTE, signed the strategic cooperation agreement of China Unicom – ZTE 5G-A deterministic industrial network, focusing on 5G edge computing network and deterministic network technology The application of 5G-A deterministic network in the industrial field and smart operation will jointly promote the integration and development of 5G and industrial Internet.

During this MWC, China Unicom also released the 5G/5G-A Deterministic Network Enabling Vertical Industry White Paper. The release of this series of achievements is China Unicom’s phased summary of the 5G/5G-A deep empowerment of industrial Internet and its outlook on the direction of technological development, and is an important milestone for China Unicom to implement the 5G new infrastructure to promote the digital transformation of manufacturing industry.
