On January 18, the 110kV Qingshu station, the first zero carbon substation in China built by Wuxi power supply branch of State Grid Jiangsu Electric Power Co., Ltd., was officially put into operation. The substation is the first substation with “zero carbon” as the conceptual design in China. It takes five months from commencement to operation. It is expected that 18000 tons of carbon emissions will be reduced in the whole life cycle.

Qingshu station adopts the first 145kV zero carbon fluorine-free environmental protection GIS equipment of siemens energy in China. Combined with other advanced equipment in the station and environmental protection integrated system, it can not only realize zero carbon operation, but also meet the primary frequency modulation requirements for the access of surrounding low-voltage distributed photovoltaic large-scale systems.

The biggest highlight of siemens energy high voltage switchgear is the use of vacuum switching technology and clean air insulation. Compared with traditional SF6 gas, the global warming potential of clean air is zero. It is a stable gas with low liquefaction temperature, fluorine-free and zero carbon. In June 2021, siemens energy provided the first 145kV blue environmental protection column circuit breaker in China for State Grid Henan Branch, and the 110kV Xiangyun substation constructed by Henan Jiyuan power supply company was successfully put into operation.

In June 2020, siemens energy provided Shanghai Electric Group with 72.5kV blue environment-friendly switchgear, which was installed on the 8mW fan in Lingang Industrial Park, Haojiang District, Shantou City, Guangdong Province. As the first environment-friendly high-voltage switchgear with zero carbon and no fluorine in China, it has been running smoothly for more than 18 months.

Siemens Energy’s blue environmental protection series products also maintain a good operation record all over the world. In December 2017, siemens energy successfully put into operation the first 145kV open vacuum circuit breaker and 145kV current / voltage combined transformer with clean air insulation in Germany; Subsequently, 145kV zero carbon fluorine free environment-friendly high-voltage switch was put into operation in Norway in April 2020, and the project has been running smoothly for more than 20 months.
