Yokogawa Electric Launches CellVoyager High Content Analysis System CQ3000

Yokogawa Electric Corporation announced that it has developed the CellVoyager High Content Analysis (HCA) System CQ3000, which is part of the CellVoyagerTM High Content Analysis (HCA) System Solution Series. It includes cell observation equipment and image analysis software, and is planned to be launched for sale in July 2024.
CQ3000 can quickly capture high-definition 3D microscopic images of live cell cultures. When used in conjunction with CellPathfinder image analysis software, it can quantify and analyze intracellular organelles, evaluate cellular responses, and evaluate the effects of drug compounds. It can efficiently evaluate cells in various environments from basic research to drug discovery screening.
CQ3000 will be exhibited at SLAS2024. SLAS2024 is an international conference and exhibition organized by the Laboratory Automation and Screening Association (SLAS) and will be held in Boston from February 3rd to 7th.

Development background
The HCA system is widely used for new drug discovery, identifying promising chemical reactions by screening the entire candidate compound library. In recent years, there has been a growing demand for advanced and high-speed screening systems, which use traditional image processing and deep learning to extract and analyze large amounts of data from high-definition cell images. In addition, there is an increasing demand for accelerating the process of new drug discovery through automation and accelerated screening operations.
main features
This CellVoyager product is a mid-range HCA system that can achieve high-resolution live cell imaging, similar to the CellVoyager CQ1 desktop high content analysis system and the CellVoyager CV8000 high content screening system. This new product will provide users with a wider range of application choices from basic research to large-scale screening, and can be combined with products such as CellPathfinder high content analysis software to provide solutions suitable for various needs and budgets.
1. Long term high-definition observation of live cells
The CQ3000 adopts the high-precision temperature control of Yokogawa Motor and a dual turntable with microlenses, which can capture optical slice images (confocal images) more quickly and sensitively. Compared with other confocal systems on the market, it can minimize cell damage and achieve long-term stable and accurate observation of live cell cultures.
2. Quick filtering
Due to the enhanced control of the stage and autofocus function, the CQ3000 can quickly capture images of the microplate. When combined with the optional dual camera and wide field of view image capture function, the entire field of view can be captured uniformly, thereby reducing image capture time. This product can quickly select promising compounds from a large number of candidate new drugs.
3. High image quality
It adopts Yokogawa Electric’s proprietary water immersion objective mechanism, which can capture bright images at low magnification in addition to detailed observation at high magnification. In addition, by using an optional homogenizer, it can also achieve uniform illumination of the entire field of view, thereby capturing vivid images.
Hiroshi Nakao, Vice President and Head of Life Science and Innovation at Yokogawa Electric, said, “The CQ3000 is an enhanced product of the CellVoyager series. It will accelerate the development of new drugs and simplify basic research in cutting-edge biology and medicine. Yokogawa Electric aims to ensure the happiness, health, and quality of life of all by providing products and solutions that contribute to drug discovery research, personalized medicine, and regenerative medicine.”
